Entry ProcessStep 1 - Enter! Click here to enter yourself as an individual or team online! Click here to download an OFFLINE ENTRY FORM. Step 3 - Start training! Whether you choose to enter the 10km City of Joondalup Family Ride, the 30km, or 60km events it is a good idea to get some practise before the day. It may seem daunting to some, but with a little training you will make it no worries! Check out our training tips section. Step 4 - Get sponsors! The HBF Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma is a fundraising event for the Asthma Foundation of WA. This event is about raising funds to help fund research into a cure for a disease that effects over 225,000 people in WA alone. Step 5 - Pick up your Participant Pack! Participant packs will need to be picked up from the event shop (details available closer to the event). Step 6 - Get bike checked! There's nothing more disappointing than getting half way through an event that you have been preparing for, and having your equipment fail. We strongly recommend that you take your bike into your local bike shop for a quick service before the event - it could save you a lot of heartache! Step 7 - Event day! Make sure you check out the parking, traffic implications and train details sections on the website and make sure you arrive with plenty of time to spare - the event can't wait for you! Please keep in mind that there inevitably will be some waiting around at the start line. We apologise for this and we will try our best to manage all 8000+ of you! Make sure that you carry water; this is a condition of starting the event - there will be refill stations along the way, but no cups. There will be a limited number of HBF Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma drink bottles available for purchase on the morning. Step 8 - Finished! Move through the finish line and follow everyone else into Joondalup's CBD where you will receive a free bottle of 'Powerade no sugar'. There will be food and drinks for sale, cafes, a stage with a band, expo and much more! Step 9 - Getting home! The Public Transport Authority will put on 'special event trains' to assist participants return to Greenwood and Perth City. Step 11 - Collect sponsorship monies! Now its time to revist those people who were kind enough to sponsor you for the event. Please send all collected sponsorship funds to the Asthma Foundation of WA.
